A new build project, Pinn River SEND School comprised of the demolition of the existing school building and construction of part-one, part-two story special education and disability school.

The scheme has delivered new teaching accommodation for up to 180 children with specialist and acute needs by expanding existing teaching accommodation and choice for residents. The development makes use of an existing school site in a sustainable location.

Requirements

The school needed moisture-resistant doors in high-humidity specialist areas, supporting the school's focus on safe and accessible facilities for pupils with complex needs. Some of the doors requiring unique design to enable them to incorporate specialist crane mechanisms.

Outcome

Lami Doors UK Ltd, working alongside Kier Construction Ltd provided product knowledge and project management experience before and whilst supplying and installing hygienic, water-resistant GRP Doors from the KMS range to the hydrotherapy pool, adjacent changing areas and WC’s.

The building was officially opened on 12 January 2026 after first being approved in 2017.
